Where I live I get the high power Lima signals, but struggle to get anything from Dayton. If I drive 5 miles South, I lose every Lima station except for T-102 and gain most of the Dayton high power signals. That “Bellefontaine Ridge” throws a wrench into my wishes of receiving a classic country FM signal! (Hahaha.)

I contacted the station that is licensed to use W254CC. Their engineer listened to WQTT’s online stream and recorded the top of the hour ID at 6:00 last evening. He informed me that he would be contacting WQTT today.

Wonder why WQTT doesn’t ID as W283AJ which is listed on their construction permit?

As an advertiser, I would be extremely upset knowing that I am paying for my business to be heard on a bogus FM repeater.

A translator must be identified with the currently licensed call sign until an application for license is filed to cover the CP. This translator has been operated long past the generally accepted window for equipment testing (an FCC rule violation) and has never been built at the location specified on the CP (a BIG FCC violation). That’s why no application for a license has ever been filed. Then again, Delmar has never much cared about FCC rules unless it’s to their benefit.

This is the reply from the engineer that I contacted:

WQTT had a construction permit for W254CZ at 98.7, what frequency are they now? is it 96.7? if so the call letter should be W244DV

    Ed

So I guess I misheard the calls. However, W254CZ returns no results. Neither did W244DV.

    What. A. Mess.

Sitting here listening as the feed for the transmitter fades in and out. One thing that didn’t fade was “Who the f*ck are you” during The Who’s song “Who are you.” I guess censoring isn’t required anymore either?

Can’t swear to it — and I don’t know what the current regulations/practices are — but I think I used to hear that uncensored frequently on AOR & Classic Rock stations.

I’ve heard it uncensored on classic rock stations far more than I have not.

I keep wondering how far this company will push the envelope until they’re called on it. This prolonged ridiculousness with WQTT’s translator, the obviously overpowered translators for both WQTT and WDLR … I’m sure there’s more I don’t know about.

I’m just trying to understand the logic of a classic rock station having an hour of public affairs programming at 10am.

Recorded in Ultra Stereo, the ultimately superior cousin to Normal Stereo!

It was from 9-10 when WQTT was oldies. Aired after the Delaware-based Breakfast Club and was the last local programming of the day unless a Marysville football game or some other local event happened to air. I give them credit as it’s basically the only local programming they have outside Marysville football (I don’t count Shawn and Kate).

Heh, looks like Shawn and Kate got dropped from the lineup.

Did not realize that. If so, I won’t miss it. Not necessarily aimed at me, a 40-year-old guy, but on the occasions I heard it I didn’t think it was funny in the least.
