Killabrew succeeds Rob Cressman, who exited in January to join Hubbard Radio as PD of “97.1 The Drive” WDRV Chicago.
iHeartMedia/Indianapolis appoints Mike Killabrew as Senior VP/Programming, effective March 14. In addition, Killabrew will also serve as Program Director for Classic Rock WFBQ-FM and Alternative WOLT-FM. The 20-year radio vet most recently served as Program Director for co-owned KPTL-FM and KXNO-AM/Des Moines. Prior to that, he held a variety of programming posts at several iHM stations in Florida, including WXTB-FM, WDAE-AM and WHNZ-AM/Tampa, as well as WZTA-AM/Miami.
“With more than two decades of programming experience at the local level, Mike understands the importance of aligning our on-air, digital content and marketing strategies across all platforms,” said iHeartmedia’s Kentucky-Indiana Region President Earl Jones. “His vision and enthusiasm to work with this team will help us reach the next level as we continue to position our incredible brand and product as a leader in the industry.”
“Mike’s programming knowledge and drive to create unique listener opportunities will be a great asset to iHeartMedia Indianapolis,” added Regional Senior VP/Programming Michael Jordan. “His ability to link our national capabilities to our local assets gives us a huge competitive advantage when it comes to driving ratings and revenue.”
“I’ve programmed, lead, and have been fortunate to be a part of amazing teams throughout my career, and I can’t wait to get things rolling in Indianapolis,” said Killabrew. “We are a solid cluster and we will work with each other to become even better.”
