Afternoon host Josh Innes was let go from CBS Sports 94.1 WIP Philadelphia prior to the start of his show today.
CBS confirmed the exit with by stating that he is no longer with the station and that various station personalities will fill in during the afternoon show until a new host is announced. Innes joined WIP in 2013 for nights before moving to afternoons in January 2015.
The move is interestingly timed with a controversy at Greater Media’s “97.5 The Fanatic” WPEN-FM’s afternoon host Mike Missanelli. Prolific caller “Dwyane From Swedesboro”, a supposed black man was revealed to be producer Pat Egan in character. Innes had been very vocal over the incident both on-air and online. Innes and Missanelli had an incident last summer at Philadelphia Eagles training camp which required the two to be separated by team security.
That situation at 97.5 The Fanatic got resolved pretty quickly. Greater Media has suspended PD Matt Nahigian, Egan himself and Missanelli’s on-air partner Jason Myrtetus.
