Following two rebrandings so far this year, Cumulus Media Hot AC “Q105.5” WQQO Toledo now has a new Program Director.
John ‘Johny D’ DiModica, who currently serves as afternoon host at WQQO and middayer at sister “98.3 Nash Icon” WMIM Monroe MI adds the PD title at WQQO. DiModica joined then “Star 105” in 2014 following a long run at Clear Channel Toledo. He takes the PD duties from Tim Graves who has exited.
Russ Ryder is concurrently named APD/Middayer for WQQO. Ryder joined the cluster earlier this year from mornings at Swick Broadcasting’s 100.3 WLKI Angola IN.
Cumulus rebranded “Star 105” WWWM to “Channel 105.5” on April 1. It then became “Q105.5” WQQO in June.
Cumulus Media announces that it has promoted John DiModica to Program Director of WQQO-FM (Q105.5) and Russ Ryder to Assistant Program Director for WQQO. DiModica, a longtime Toledo radio personality known on-air as “Johny D”, will keep his shifts as Afternoon Drive host on WQQO and as Midday host on sister station WMIM (98.3 NASH Icon). In addition to his new role at WQQO, Ryder will host the Midday show on WQQO.
DiModica joined WQQO in 2014 as Afternoon Drive host. Prior to that, he was on-air at WPFX, WVKS and WSPD in Toledo. DiModica also previously served as Program Director and Afternoon Drive host on WCKY in Findlay, OH. He has also held on-air posts in Cleveland and Tampa.
Ryder is a veteran programming operations and on-air professional, who joined Cumulus Media-Toledo in August. He previously held programming and on-air positions in Toledo and in markets including: Fort Wayne, IN; Lima, OH; Defiance, OH; and Detroit, MI.
