iHeartMedia AC “Star 102.1” KDGE Dallas will officially debut its permanent format on Monday, December 26.
The station has also announced its on-air lineup that will feature Ryan Lovet in mornings from 6am-12pm, Rick O’Bryan from 12pm-6pm, and Amanda Flores from 6pm-12am. Lovet is described as a20-year on-air personality. O’Bryan is known in the Dallas market from the five years he spent as PD/Afternoon host at sister Hot AC “Mix 102.9” KDMX from 2006-2011. Flores will track the evening shift from Houston, where she hosts middays at sister “Sunny 99.1” KODA. Jay Shannon, PD of Hot AC “Now 102.9” KDMX and the former “102.1 The Edge” remains as PD for Star 102.1.
iHeartMedia Dallas announced today the debut of Star 102.1, the new home of Mainstream Adult Contemporary (AC) for Dallas / Fort Worth, effective December 26.
Star 102.1 will broadcast music from popular recording artists such as Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Pink and Madonna. The station’s programming lineup will include 20-year radio veteran personality Ryan Lovet, American Women in Media on-air personality of the year winner Rick O’Bryan, and newcomer to the DFW radio landscape, Amanda Flores.
“The early feedback on Star 102.1 has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Patrick Davis, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Dallas / Fort Worth. “Our Star 102.1 team, led by Program Director Jay Shannon, has been working around the clock to get the new Star 102.1 ready to launch at the stroke of midnight on December 26. We are very excited to get the station on the air and fill a void that DFW radio has been missing.”

Rick O’Bryan Noon – 6 p.m.
Amanda Flores 6 p.m. – midnight
Gotta say…I’m really not a fan of that logo. The other one works better.
It’s funny that the station is called “Star,” but the new logo doesn’t even have a star in it.
