Beasley Media Rock 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia has filled its live overnight slot with the promotion of Brent Porche from weekends.
Porche has worked weekends and off-air at WMMR for the past 11 years. He fills the overnight slot (one of the rare live overnight shows remaining in this industry) vacated by Jacky Bam Bam’s move to nights when Matt Cord shifted to mornings at sister Variety Hits “95.7 Ben-FM” WBEN-FM at the start of this year.
Porche will be heard Tuesday-Friday mornings from 12-5:30am while retaining his Saturday 3-7pm show.
It’s rare a radio station goes 8 years in between full-time hires. It’s rarer still that the position is for a full time overnight air talent.
Beasley Media Group and 93.3 WMMR-Philadelphia are pleased to announce Brent Porche (yes, that’s his real name) is the latest member of the full-time line-up at America’s standard bearer for the rock format.
Still going strong since its 1968 sign-on, WMMR has always employed a live and local personality for its overnight listeners. Brent Porche, who has a decade of experience on the part-time staff, takes the reins from Jacky Bam Bam, recently promoted to the 7-midnight shift. His enthusiasm for rock music of all kinds, his support of the local concert scene and a trusted listener relationship makes him an ideal choice to continue the tradition of live and local, 24/7 Everything That Rocks.
Says Porche, “It’s like a lifelong fan rooting for The Eagles and getting hired to play on the team – with all his favorite players! I’m honored to join Preston & Steve, Pierre Robert, Jaxon, Jacky and all the DJs on such a legendary station.”
Program Director Bill Weston adds, “Brent is a perfect fit for the starting five on WMMR. Great pipes, positive attitude and he gets the listener and client relationship.”
