Craig Way has exited as afternoon co-host of The Sports Buffet on iHeartMedia’s “1300 The Zone” KVET Austin and “Ticket 760” KTKR San Antonio.
Way, who serves as the primary play-by-play voice for The University of Texas football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball, will join Austin Radio Network as Sports Director. In his new position he will serve as the liason between IMG Sports, University of Texas, and Austin Radio Network whose stations serve as flagship for UT Sports. He will also contribute to Country KOKE-FM, Sports “104.9 The Horn” KTXX, and Classic Rock “105.3 The Bat” K287FG.
Austin Radio Network (ARN), parent company of 104.9 The Horn, KOKE-FM, & 105.3 The Bat, is proud to announce the appointment of Craig Way as Sports Director for the network of radio stations.
Way, one of the most recognizable voices on the radio, will fill the position of Sports Director for ARN, while continuing his duties as voice of the University of Texas Longhorn football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.
As Sports Director, Way will be the liaison between IMG Network and University of Texas Athletics, expand coverage and growth of the High School Football Network, and be a regular contributor across our network of radio stations.
Way has held the post as voice of the University of Texas Longhorns since 2001, but has been involved with IMG and UT Athletics since 1988.
Way has also been a staple in the high school athletic arena for over 24 years, and was inducted into the Texas High School Hall of Fame in 2016 as the year’s Dave Campbell special contributor.
He will continue to host the state-wide broadcast of the High School Scoreboard Live on Fox Southwest.
