Scripps AC “94.9 Mix-FM” KMXZ Tucson has let go of Bobby Rich after 24+ years at the station.
Rich made an unknown comment last week that led to the station suspending him on Monday and letting him go today. He wrote on Facebook that he regrets it and apologized, “but becomes necessary for my association with Mix-FM and Scripps Tucson to conclude.”
Rich has a long radio history including WMYQ Miami, WAVZ New Haven, KHJ and KHTZ Los Angeles, WXLO New York, and WWSH Philadelphia. He is best known as one of the “Rich Brothers” at through two tenures at “B100” KFMB-FM San Diego which he continues to immortalize through webcaster “Bobby’s B100“. Rich hosted mornings at KMXZ from 1993 until the end of 2016. He then moved to afternoons in January as host of “Bobby Rich Celebrates Tucson”.
