Entercom Urban AC “The New 97.7” WKAF Brockton/Boston debuted its morning show today hosted by KJ Carson and Kesha Monk.

In addition to the debut of KJ and Kesha in mornings, Program Director Chris Malone will begin hosting afternoons today.
There’s more exciting news from Boston’s brand new Urban radio station. On February 6th, 97.7 FM, Boston’s #1 For R&B, debuted The Morning Wake Up with KJ and Kesha, featuring KJ Carson and Kesha Monk. The show airs weekdays from 6:00 to 10:00AM on the New 97.7 FM in Boston and streaming nationwide on www.977rnb.com.
KJ Carson returns to Boston radio after 17 years. His career began in Greensboro, NC with stops in Charlotte, Kansas City, Atlanta, Washington D.C. and previous experience in Boston as the Morning Drive Host of the legendary WILD-AM. Carson adds, “I am very humbled and honored to come back to Boston. I feel like I have been blessed in a way that words cannot describe.”
Kesha Monk has hosted radio programs in the largest markets in the country including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Kesha is a product of a musical family; both of her parents were professional gospel recording artists and her great uncle was the legendary jazz musician, Thelonious Monk. “I am looking forward to entertaining, inspiring, uplifting and encouraging our Boston listeners and beyond,” says Monk. It’s the first time KJ and Kesha have worked together as a team.
Delivering on his promise to hire a local air staff, 97.7 FM Program Director, Chris Malone, unveils The Morning Wake Up just one month after the station launch. “It’s incredible to be a part of a company committed to investing in outstanding local personalities, he said. “We received interest from all over the country, but I’m positive Boston will quickly embrace The Morning Wake Up with KJ and Kesha.” Malone says other talent additions for the new station will be announced soon.
