Entercom launched Urban AC “Hot 103.7” 1350 WWWL/103.7 W279DF New Orleans at 12pm today.
The new format directly attacks iHeartMedia market leading Urban AC 98.5 WYLD-FM and Cumulus’ “Old School 106.7” KMEZ with a younger skewing take on the format. WWWL is focusing solely on R&B hits from the 1990s through now as opposed to the 1970s through now playlists of its two competitors.

Original Report 2/9: Entercom Talk “1350 3WL” WWWL New Orleans is moving its format to 105.3 WWL-HD2 as a new music format prepares to launch on WWWL and its new translator.
The format change is tied to the launch of 103.7 W279DF New Orleans. The 250 watt translator covers New Orleans proper. The 3WL talk format continues on 105.3 WWL-HD2 exclusively starting Friday, February 10 with local host Tom Fitzmorris’ “Food Show” from 3-6pm and NBC Sports Radio in other dayparts. Fitzmorris had hosted afternoons on 1350 through multiple formats since 1988.
