Due to the Easter holiday, the FCC Report is going up a day late. We are also making our normal Premium content available for free this week.
AM Changes
New World Radio Brokered Ethnic daytime 1120 WUST Washington DC seeks to add a 50 watt night pattern while retaining its current 50kW day and 3kW critical hours patterns.
Public Broadcasting of Colorado’s Public News/Talk 1490 KCFC Boulder seeks to diplex on the tower of University of Colorado’s “Radio 1190” KVCU Boulder with 290 watts day and night.
Inland Northwest Broadcasting Classic Country 1350 KRLC Lewiston applies to downgrade its night power from 1kW to 158 watts while eliminating one of its two towers. KRLC will remain at 5kW daytime.
Station Deletions
Morgan County Industries has turned in the licenses for three Kentucky AMs. 1140 WRLV Salyersville, 1330 WMOR Morehead, and 1450 WLKS West Liberty have all been deleted.
Durlyn Broadcasting Company AC “Magic 95.9” WPNC-FM Plymouth NC has had its license deleted due to failure to pay delinquent debts owed to the FCC. The agency states it made attempts in June 2015 and December 2016 but received no response.
Dismissals
Salem Media’s AM Revitalization application to move 103.1 K276FZ Eaglemount WA to 94.3 in Portland OR with 50w/393m has been dismissed following Bustos Media’s Petition For Reconsideration due to interference it would cause to Regional Mexican “La Zeta 94.3” KZZR Government Camp. K276FZ was going to rebroadcast Conservative Talk “Talk 1640” KDZR Lake Oswego/Portland.
FM Changes
JMRW LLC’s Oldies/Classic Country “Vintage Radio” 105.5 WQUD Erie IL applies to move to 107.7 from a new tower site near Joslin IL with 6kW/83m where it will rimshot the Quad Cities. The move would require Withers Broadcasting’s 94.3 WSSQ Sterling IL to move to 105.5 and Sauk Valley Broadcasting Company’s 107.7 WLLT Polo IL to 94.3 via Show Cause Orders.
As its previous CP expired unbuilt, Desert West Air Ranchers Corporation’s Classic Rock 103.1 KCDX Florence AZ reapplies for the same 42kW/614m facilities, but adding a directional null away from Tucson.
Coastal Broadcasting Systems AC “98.7 The Coast” WCZT Villas NJ seeks to move to the former tower of 102.3 WGBZ Cape May with 6kW/90m.
ZIA Broadcasting Company Country 105.5 KACT-FM Andrews TX applies to increase to 6kW/78m.
Translator Changes
With the lessened restrictions on AM stations and FM translators taking place this week, we saw a large number of applications filed to take advantage of the new rules. As an example of the new flexibility for the new rules, World India Radio’s 1310 WXMC Parsippany-Troy Hills NJ has applied to move 94.3 W232CY Parsippany to 96.7 from a tower in Edison where it will have zero overlap with the AM station’s current coverage area.
