Nine years after exiting the Program Director position at “93.7 Kiss County” KSKS Fresno, Steve Pleshe will return to the Cumulus Country station in that role effective May 7.
Pleshe previously programmed KSKS from 2004 through 2008 before moving to positions in record promotion while remaining based in Fresno. He succeeds Darren Arriens who left in March to join Entercom Charlotte as Director of Operations.
Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed Steve Pleshe as Program Director for KSKS-FM/KISS Country in Fresno, CA, effective May 7, 2017. Born in Orange, California, Steve moved to Fresno in the late 80’s to attend Fresno State. He began his radio career at KISS Country in the early 90’s as a part-time staffer and worked his way up to Program Director in the summer of 2004. Pleshe has spent the last nine-and-a-half years working in the record industry as a regional director of promotion based in Fresno, promoting #1 hits from Country artists Chris Young, Sara Evans, Jake Owen and most recently, Kelsea Ballerini (The only new female to start her career with 3 straight #1’s).
Patty Hixson, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Media-Fresno, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Steve back to KISS Country! Having worked with him in the past, I consider him one of the brightest and most creative Program Directors in the business. He will elevate KISS Country’s programming with his unique perspective and create some of America’s best Country radio!“
Pleshe said: “Radio never left my blood. I’ve always considered myself a programmer that was working in the record industry. I had a great time working with so many great people in the Nashville community, but it’s time to come home to the station where it all started…KISS Country.”
