Following its layoffs last week, iHeartMedia has appointed Steve McNair as its new Market President for its New Orleans cluster and promoted Baton Rouge Market President Michael Hudson to Area President for Baton Rouge/New Orleans.
McNair joins iHeartMedia from the Regional Sales Manager position at Titan Broadcasting’s KUBE-TV Houston. He has previously worked in radio for iHeartMedia Houston and as VP/Sales for CBS Radio Houston. He will report to Michael Hudson, the former Baton Rouge Market President who now will serve as Area President for both markets.
McNair succeeds Marlon George, who was let go in last week’s cuts.
iHeartMedia announced today that Steve McNair has been named Market President for the New Orleans market effective May 29th. iHeartMedia New Orleans has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises – both broadcast and digital – including Q93, Throwback 96.3, 98.5 WYLD, News Talk 99.5 WRNO, 101.1 WNOE, Voodoo 104, Amen 940, FOX Sports 1280 and 1210 The Score – and produces legendary marquee events including Sista Strut, Wine On The River, Welcome Affair and Lil Weezyana Fest.
iHeartMedia has massive consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. McNair will work with the programming, marketing and sales teams for radio station brands in New Orleans to oversee on-air and digital programming as well as create new business and revenue opportunities. He will report to Michael Hudson, newly appointed Area President for iHeartMedia Baton Rouge/New Orleans.“Steve is the perfect leader for iHeartMedia New Orleans,” said Hudson. “With him at the helm, I have no doubt that our already talented New Orleans team and brands will grow to new heights.”

Before overseeing KUBE-TV, he served as the Vice President of Sales for CBS Radio Houston market. McNair’s background also includes work in sales and sales management for iHeartMedia Houston and he served as an executive coach for iHeartMedia management across the United States. He is a graduate of the University of Houston.
