As expected 760 KDSP relaunched today as All-Denver Broncos “Orange & Blue Radio“.
Former Broncos lineman Tyler Polumbus, who previously co-hosted mornings at Bonneville Sports “104.3 The Fan” KKFN and is joining the Broncos gameday coverage this season, will host mornings with former KDSP afternoon host Andy Lindahl. Other hosts on the station will include Steve Atwater, Dave Logan, and Andrew Mason.
In addition to Broncos talk programming, KDSP will cover all Broncos news conferences and team produced content. Following an introductory message from Broncos President John Elway, the station launched with an interview with new head coach Vance Joseph.
iHeartMedia Denver Market announced today the debut of the new Orange and Blue Radio, All Broncos, all the time, effective immediately.
Orange and Blue Radio will broadcast Broncos Sports Talk. The station will feature exclusive Broncos content, Broncos breaking news and live coverage of all Broncos news conferences.
“We’re excited to further strengthen our partnership with the Denver Broncos,” said Tim Hager, Region President for iHeartMedia Denver. “Orange and Blue Radio will allow us to serve our community’s listeners and advertisers with unique and exclusive Broncos content.”
“Orange and Blue Radio will quickly become the preeminent destination for Broncos fans,” said JoJo Turnbeaugh, Regional Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Denver. “In addition to AM 760 and 103.5 HD2 along the Front Range, Orange and Blue Radio will reach Broncos fans around the globe via our iHeartRadio App.”
Station programming will feature established local sports personalities including Steve Atwater, Dave Logan, Tyler Polumbus and Andrew Mason.
“Our longstanding partnership with iHeartMedia Denver continues to evolve and we are committed to finding new ways to engage Broncos fans across the fast-changing media landscape,” Broncos Chief Commercial Officer Mac Freeman said. “Orange and Blue Radio will allow us to bring Broncos fans more content, more often, in more places.”
iHeartMedia is a leading media outlet in the Denver market and its content is available across multiple platforms, including its broadcast station; online via its branded digital site; mobile; and social, with nationwide listening through iHeartRadio, the all-in-one streaming music and live radio service – with its more than a billion downloads and 100 million registered users.
Original Report 7/26: iHeartMedia’s “Denver Sports 760” KDSP/107.9 K300CP Denver will relaunch on Thursday as “Orange & Blue Radio” focusing completely on the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
As first reported by the Denver Post, the station will become a 50/50 partnership between the Broncos and iHeartMedia with a new studio being built at the team’s Dove Valley headquarters. iHeart’s News/Talk 850 KOA and Classic Rock “103.5 The Fox” KRFX serve as the flagship stations for the Broncos.
The station’s lineup has not been announced yet but will feature former Broncos tackle Tyler Polumbus, who will also be joining the team’s gameday broadcasts as a sideline reporter. KOA afternoon host Dave Logan and KRFX morning host/KOA afternoon co-host Rick Lewis serve as the play-by-play announcers.
KDSP flipped from “Real Talk 760” KKZN to Sports in January 2016. It is currently one of five Sports stations in the Denver market and registered a mere 0.1 share in the June 2017 Nielsen Audio ratings. The station currently carries Fox Sports Radio network programming and a local afternoon show hosted by KOA’s Andy Lindahl from 4-6pm.
INSTANT INSIGHT:While a few NFL franchises have partnerships with HD Radio subchannels or have streaming programming, “Orange & Blue Radio” will be the first terrestrial Sports station to focus on just one sport and franchise. With four other Sports stations in the market, and having the partnership with the Broncos already in place, this move gives KDSP a way to make its programming unique as well as giving iHeart a product for its iHeartRadio streaming app that could drive streams from Broncos fans living outside Denver.
