Midwest Communications flipped AC “Mix 101.9” KRWK Fargo ND to Variety Hits “101.9 Jack-FM” at 12:00 this morning.
The move eliminates the only AC station in the Fargo market and positions KRWK between Radio FM Media’s Hot AC “Big 98.7” KLTA and Radio Wahpeton Breckenridge Classic Hits “106.9 The Eagle” KEGK. With the move to the jockless brand, no word just yet on the status of the KRWK airstaff including morning hosts Scotch Anderson, Britta Lee, and JJ, middayer Ryan Kelly and afternoon host Dan Michaels.
KRWK ranked ninth in the Fargo-Moorhead market in the Spring 2017 Nielsen Audio ratings with a 3.4 share, but down from a 4.1 in Fall 2016. The format debuted on 104.7 KMJO in 2013 following Midwest’s acquisition of the cluster and then moved to 101.9 in July 2015.
Fargo was one of three markets that we reported that Midwest Communications would launch the “Jack-FM” brand in last month.
