FCC Adopts More AM Revitalization Rule Changes

FCC Juan Alberto Ayala Translator AbuseThis FCC has issued a Third Report and Order with streamlined requirements on AM technical procedures.

The changes adopted were proposals to reduce the number of antenna radials upon which field strength measurements must be taken, reducing the expenses for Method of Moments modeling of directional antenna performance, and maintenance of of proper performance and adjustment of the directional arrays via Method of Moments modeling.

These rule changes were originally to be voted on at the FCC’s September Open Meeting on Tuesday, September 26. As all three commissioners agreed to the changes ahead of time they were removed from that docket and approved ahead of time.
