The FCC ended the year by issuing a number of Violation Notices to numerous operators across the country.
Westface Ventures’ 98.5 K253AN Sunset Valley/Austin TX has been issued a Notice of Violation for operating from an unauthorized location 13 miles from its licensed tower site at a higher power and height. K253AN is licensed to rebroadcast Genuine Austin Radio’s 1260 KTAE Elgin with 200w/141m.
Mount Olive Broadcasting Company’s Christian 1430 WDJS Mount Olive NC was issued a Notice of Violation for operating from a tower 3.9 miles from its authorized facility and not making its public file available to the agency due to no staff presence at its facility when it visited between 11:10am and 1:45pm.
Machine Project’s 99.1 KZUT-LP Los Angeles was issued its Notice of Violation for multiple EAS issues. The station’s logs contained no record of the June 27 monthly test, no tests or alerts from KCBS-FM between 10/6 and 10/17 or an explanation of why, no tests or alerts from KROW between 7/26 and 9/25, and receiving a test from KDAY which was not an authorized source.
Association For Community Education’s 106.9 K295AI Muscoy CA was issued a Notice of Violation for failing to broadcast its call letters during the required 12:55pm-1:05pm slot that is required of translators.
Caroline Smith, who has a pending sale of 105.1 KAMT Channing/Amarillo TX to Viva Media, was issued a notice of violation for failing to maintain the tower lights on the tower that is home to KAMT and Viva’s 96.1 KBEX-FM Dalhart.
