Alpha Media has made some talent cuts at its Bakersfield CA and Biloxi MS clusters.
In Bakersfield, Conservative Talk 1560 KNZR/97.7 KNZR-FM has parted ways with 12-3pm host Jaz McKay and 3-6pm host Inga Barks. McKay was in the news last week for racist comments he made on Facebook in regards to the number of Spanish language stations in Bakersfield. Sean Hannity has been added to fill the 12-3pm slot while the station’s website now lists Terry Maxwell in the 3-6pm slot.
In Biloxi, afternoon host Riley Knight is out at Rock 97.9 WCPR while Valerie Kattz exits her early afternoon shift at CHR “107.1 The Monkey” WXYK and as afternoon traffic reporter at the cluster.
Night host DJ 6’5″ exits Rhythmic CHR “U92.7” KKUU Indio/Palm Springs CA.
Morning host Kim Morrison and producer/co-host Sammy Jo Golesh have exited Broadcast Company of the Americas Classic Hits “105.7 Max-FM” XEPRS-FM Tecate MX/San Diego.

The follow-up item in today’s Tom Taylor Now to this post (at https://us6.campaign-archive.com/?u=78b390ff9f5b002e3f050238c&id=60b8d088ef, under “Two Bakersfield talk-hosts are out following a Facebook Live post – but is there more going on at Alpha?”) has this ominous note…
“And two sources suggest to this NOW Newsletter that Alpha may be in danger of ‘tripping a covenant’ with lenders, sometime in the first part of 2018.”
