Max Media has promoted Director of Sales Keith Barton to Vice President/General Manager for its five station cluster in Norfolk/Virginia Beach replacing the exiting Dave Paulus. Barton has been with the company since 1998 and Director of Sales since 2011. Paulus had overseen the cluster since 2011 and previously spent a decade as Market Manager at Saga Communications’ Norfolk cluster.
Keith has worked at these stations for 20 years,” says Max Media President/COO John Trinder. “His contributions as Director of Sales for the last seven years are an indicator of the great things that we can expect from him as General Manager.”
Max Media owns Classic Hits “92.9 The Wave” WVBW, Sports “ESPN Radio 94.1” WVSP, Country “97.3 The Eagle” WGH-FM, CHR “Hot 100” 100.5 WVHT, and Oldies 1310 WGH in Norfolk.
Lauren Macleash has exited as Operations Manager of Entercom Country “Buz’n 102.9” KMNB and Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” KZJK Minneapolis. She joined CBS Radio in that role in September 2014 and added Program Director duties for KMNB in 2016. She is best known for her 19 year run programming AAA “Cities 97” KTCZ from 1994-2013. She also programmed Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL during her time with iHeartMedia.
Former 850 KOA Denver morning anchor Steffan Tubbs has joined Salem Media Conservative Talk 710 KNUS Denver as 4-7pm host. Tubbs exited KOA last August after being charged with domestic violence, but all charges against him were dropped in December.
Jennifer ‘Jay Mac’ Jones has announced that she will leave nights at Midwest Communications Classic Rock 103.5 WIMZ Knoxville TN at the end of February to pursue ministry. She has hosted nights at WIMZ since 2007.
Alpha Media Sports “ESPN 1410” WING Dayton has promoted Afternoon host Justin Kinner to Program Director.
Alpha Media, Dayton, OH, names Justin Kinner Program Director of WING-AM. Justin was previously working as the afternoon drive host, and interim PD of WING-AM. He also has experience as an account executive in the market.
Alpha Media, Dayton Operations Manager, Bo Matthews commented on the announcement, “It was clear from the moment I arrived that Justin was the guy to become the new PD of WING-AM. I wish I could bottle up his passion and excitement and pass it around.”
