Dale Mussen is stepping down from the morning show at Townsquare Media Country 106.5 WYRK Buffalo NY after 34 years at the station.
In a blog entry on the station’s website, Mussen writes that he will stay on for fill-in work and station events. Clay Moden and Liz Mantel will remain in place without Mussen.
Jay ‘Lightning’ Tilles is leaving his role as Executive Producer of The Kevin & Bean Show on Entercom Alternative 106.7 KROQ Pasadena/Los Angeles after 27 years at the station. Tilles will join automotive parts manufacturer Banks Power. He also mentions that Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla are currently shopping a documentary about KROQ.
Richard ‘Box’ Bachschmidt has resigned from mornings at LM Communications AAA “105.5 The Bridge” WCOO Kiawah Island/Charleston SC.
Bachschmidt seemed to hold no good words for station management telling Charleston City Paper, “There’s a pall over that building, no pun intended. Just no respect. Nobody in there is working for those guys. Those people are working because they have pride and self respect and they care about the people around them enough not to accept anything less.” He did put over his now former co-host Jessie Binder Turner calling her “the most marvelous and caring and concerned and real and honest woman he knows,” adding “she could take over now and everybody under her leadership by the weekend would be so excited, they’d come to work on Saturday. She is invaluable to what goes on there.”
Former VH1 and The View host Michelle Collins is joining SiriusXM starting Monday, March 5 to host a morning show from 8-10am eastern on “SiriusXM Stars” channel 109.
SiriusXM announced today that Michelle Collins, comedian, talk show host and former co-host of The View, will host an uncensored daily show exclusively on SiriusXM’s Stars.
The Michelle Collins Show will feature Collins’ interviews with celebrity guests, newsmakers, experts and reality TV stars. Collins will also share personal stories and discuss a variety of topics including pop culture and entertainment, shopping and beauty, and the trending news of the day. Collins will also take calls from listeners while diving into deeper discussions about current events.
Listeners can hear The Michelle Collins Show live starting Monday, March 5, on SiriusXM’s Stars channel 109 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices. The program will air live weekday mornings from 8:00 – 10:00 am ET, as the lead-in program to The Jenny McCarthy Show.
“I was ecstatic when I heard Michelle Collins was joining our SiriusXM family,” said SiriusXM host Jenny McCarthy. “She will quickly learn what I learned working here, which is she will no longer have to try to get her point of VIEW across in four words or less before being interrupted. The mic is hers and we want to hear what she has to say. She is funny, intelligent, and loves to make fun of The Bachelor as much as I do, and I can’t think of a better lead in for me. Welcome home, Michelle.”
“Talking without interruption has been a childhood dream of mine,” said Michelle Collins. “And, having the freedom to do it at SiriusXM five days a week is that dream fulfilled. I want to get into the stuff that makes us tick – reality TV, online shopping addictions, dating, first-world problems and balancing those with more serious news and current events. Every morning on the Stars channel will be a new adventure fueled by my passion for almost everything.”
People on the street may recognize Michelle Collins as a host on The View’s 19th season. Others might know her as the devoted host of ABC’s After Paradise, a live after-show for their hit summer franchise Bachelor In Paradise. She has also driven for work, not as an Uber driver but as the host of VH1’s Walk of Shame Shuttle, a hidden-camera show where she would pick up people doing the walk of shame in a van and give them a ride home while interviewing them. Michelle has been seen as the host of Date Night Live and Little Talk Live, both for Lifetime. Digitally, some people accidentally stumble upon her show All My Gay Friends Are Getting Married while looking for Bachelor reruns on the ABC digital app. Michelle is also a contributing writer for Elle and Vanity Fair, whose Oscar red carpet show she also hosts.
