Entercom Country “Kiss Country 99.9” WKIS-FM Boca Raton/Miami FL has appointed John O’Connell as Program Director.
O’Connell has been in the market since 2015 as Program Director of sister Alternative “104.3 The Shark” WSFS and also previously programmed Classic Hits “102.7 The Beach” WMXJ. He takes over the WKIS duties from Rob Morris, who remains in place as VP/Programming for the cluster and PD of Rhythmic CHR “Power 96” 96.5 WPOW-FM.
O’Connell has previous experience in Country as OM/PD of 107.9 WIRK West Palm Beach from 2008-2012 and briefly in 2013 at 99.5 WQYK Tampa.
Entercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content in the United States, announced the appointment of John O’Connell to the role of Program Director for Kiss Country 99.9 (WKIS-FM), Miami’s exclusive country radio station. John’s new role is in addition to his current programming responsibilities for 104.3 The Shark, Miami’s alternative station.

John began his radio career in Boston at Kiss 108. In 1995, John joined 103.1 the Buzz in West Palm Beach and was also on the team at Modern AC, Mix 102.3, South Florida Country 107.9 WIRK, and AC Sunny 104.3. Prior to Entercom Miami, John was the Program Director at 98.7 The Fan in Tampa, CBS 1010 Sports, and Tampa Bay Country 99.5 WQYK.
