Station Deletions
Broadcast South has turned in the license of Oldies 1240 WBHB Fitzgerald GA. The FCC had inquired about the status of the station last month after receiving a complaint that WBHB had been been off the air for an extended period of time. In their letter turning in the license, Broadcast South stated that it had been operating WBHB briefly once per week because its transmitter “caused very significant distortion to the signals of both WZKK and WRDO, and even to fax machines, telephones, and other appliances in the same building” and they were unable to find the cause.
Ivan Rene Moore’s 102.5 W273AT Mequon WI was deleted after Moore’s response to the FCC inquiring about its operational status was found to be insufficient after the FCC received a complaint that it had not operated for five years. Moore told the FCC that the translator operated once a year for 24-28 hours but he had no access to the paperwork at its transmitter site because he is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the owners of the site refused to turn it over to his attorneys.
