Vlazny exited his position at Entercom Classic Hip-Hop “Q102.1” KRBQ in January where he served as Assistant Program Director, Imaging Director and Morning co-host. He has worked in the San Francisco market since 2005 with stops at Dance “Energy 92.7” KNGY, “Oldies 103.7” KOSF, and Country “95.7 The Wolf” KBWF. After hosting mornings from 1996-2010, he returned to the station in the morning slot in 2013.
Bonneville International – San Francisco / Bay Area based KUFX-FM (98.5 KFOX) The South Bay’s Classic Rock Station welcomes Joey (Joey Vlazny) to mornings beginning Monday, April 16th. Joey most recently hosted mornings at KRBQ-FM (Q-102) and afternoons at KOSF-FM. Joey’s radio journey also includes stops in Chicago, Dallas and now San Jose, California.
Concurrently, San Jose rock legend Chris Jackson moves to afternoons (2pm-7pm), the day-part where he started on KUFX back on March 4, 1991.
“Joey’s smart work ethic, strong creativity and passion for our business elevates our brand awareness” said Brian Figula, 98.5 KFOX Program Director. “I look forward to adding him to the team with Chris Jackson to dominate the San Jose radio market”.
“Not being on the radio was driving me nuts” said Joey. “Sleeping in till 10am every day was nice, but 3 months of that was enough. I was incredibly honored to even be considered to work on a South Bay institution like KFOX. Taking over mornings from the legendary Chris Jackson certainly adds some pressure to the gig, but I’m excited for the challenge”.
Speaking of KRBQ, the station continues its on-air revamp with the addition of Victor ‘Big Daddy’ Zaragosa for afternoons. Zaragosa most recently was serving as a traffic reporter for News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC but has previously spent two tours at Rhythmic CHR “Wild 94.9” KYLD and at Urban AC 102.9 KBLX in the San Francisco market as well as hosting mornings at Rhythmic Oldies “Hot 92.3” KHHT Los Angeles.
98.5 KVOO Tulsa APD/MD/Afternoon host Krystina Carlyle is joining Pamal Broadcasting Country “100.9 The Cat” WKLI-FM Albany NY as Music Director/Morning Co-Host. Carlyle will join incumbent co-host Kevin Richards on the WKLI morning show. The Massachusetts native has previously worked at multiple stations in the Tulsa market, Albuquerque, and in North Carolina.
With the addition of Carlyle, Dana Race has exited after six years with the station.
Ingstad (soon to be Stephens Media) Country 104.1 KXDD Yakima WA has promoted Lindsey Cleveland from part-time to morning co-host alongside OM/PD Brian Stephenson. Cleveland supplants Carey Jacobson, who departed in February.
