After being released by the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks on Friday, Cliff Avril is joining iHeartMedia Sports 950 KJR Seattle as midday co-host.
Avril suffered a career-ending neck injury last October and will join Jason Puckett in KJR’s 10am-1pm daypart starting July 9. The former Pro Bowl defensive end spent ten years in the NFL split between the Detroit Lions and Seahawks where he won a Super Bowl in 2013.
Avril will take the spot currently filled on an interim basis by longtime Seattle sports talker Mike Gastineau.
iHeartMedia Seattle’s Sports Radio 950 KJR-AM, Entertaining Sports Talk, announced today that Cliff Avril will join Jason Puckett as co-host of The Jason Puckett and Cliff Avril show, effective July 9. The Jason Puckett and Cliff Avril Show will broadcast weekdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Jason Puckett and Cliff Avril Show features Jason Puckett, who has been with Sports Radio 950 KJR-AM for 15 years in a variety of roles. Beginning July 9, Puckett will be joined by 10-year NFL veteran Avril, who was recently released by the Seattle Seahawks after five years with the team. The former Pro Bowl defensive end helped the Seahawks win the Super Bowl in 2013.
