Former “Mix 105.1” KUDD Salt Lake City OM/PD Matt Johnson is joining iHeartMedia CHR “Z107.7” KSLZ St. Louis as Program Director.
Johnson has also programmed “94.5 Kiss-FM” WDKF Dayton and “B103.9” WXKB Fort Myers in his career. His appointment follows the promotion of Jules Riley to SVP/Programming of the iHeartMedia St. Louis cluster last week.
Johnson fills the opening created by AJ’s move to Charlotte earlier this year.
iHeartMedia announced today that Matt Johnson has been named Program Director for Z107.7, KSLZ-FM effective immediately. iHeartMedia St.Louis has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands KLOU-FM, KSD-FM, KSLZ-FM, KATZ-FM, KLLT-FM, KATZ –HD, KATZ-AM, and franchises — both broadcast and digital.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company.
“Matt is a solid addition to the KSLZ and iHeart St. Louis team. We look forward to watching him grow this heritage CHR brand.” noted SVPP Jules Riley. “We spoke with a number of talented programmers, but Matt’s drive, creativity and talent development made him our ideal candidate.”
Matt Johnson has been successfully programming Top 40 for over 15 years including stops at WDKF/Dayton, WXKB/Ft. Myers, and KUDD/Salt Lake City.
Johnson remarked, “I am truly honored to lead such a heritage brand as KSLZ into it’s next phase. Big thanks to Jules Riley, Derrick Martin, Greg Chance, and Maynard for giving me this opportunity. I’m excited to get to work with Jordan and the rest of the team in St. Louis. #GoCards”
