Just months after moving from “XL 102.1” WRXL Richmond to iHeartMedia’s “106.5 The End” WEND Charlotte as APD/MD/Midday host, Tamo Sein is making another big market jump as she joins “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles as midday host.
Sein takes the midday slot currently held by Marty Whitney. No word yet on his status with the station or the company where he also host nights at “Rock 105.3” KIOZ San Diego.
iHeartMedia Los Angeles announced today that Tamo Sein will host Middays for ALT 98.7, LA’s New Alternative station. Beginning July 16, Sein will broadcast weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT, following LA’s infamous on air morning crew — The Woody Show.
“We believe the ALT 98.7 audience will immediately take to Tamo’s relatable and down to earth approach,” said Lisa Worden, Alternative Rock Brand Manager & Program Director for Alt 98.7. “Plus, she loves Alternative music and is a food and wine enthusiast! She’ll fit right in with LA.”
Sein joins the Los Angeles Market from iHeartMedia Charlotte where she most recently served as Assistant Program Director and Music Director. She also served as the Midday Host for 106.5’s The END, Charlotte’s Alternative Rock station. She began her career as Music Director at WROX in Norfolk, Virginia and is a graduate of Old Dominion University.
“In the words of my family & friends, ‘We totally thought you were pregnant, but OH MY GOD THIS MAY BE EVEN MORE EXCITING NEWS!’ I’m so grateful for the opportunity to call some of the most talented people in the industry my co-workers. I don’t know if it will ever truly feel real,” said Sein.
