Walnut Radio has purchased Christian Preaching “660 The Word” KCRO/106.5 K293CJ and Conservative Talk “94.5 The Answer” 1420 KOTK/94.5 K233CO Omaha NE from Salem Media.
The stations will be purchased by Walnut Radio affiliate Hickory Radio with Salem licensing the Word and Answer brands to the company. The stations will join Walnut’s Oldies “Boomer Radio” 1490 KOMJ/104.1 K281CJ Omaha in Walnut’s local cluster.
-Salem Media Group (NASDAQ: SALM) announced today it has signed an agreement to sell KCRO-AM (660), KOTK-AM (1420), and affiliated translators to Hickory Radio. Hickory is an affiliate of Walnut Radio, who will manage the radio stations on behalf of Hickory. For listeners, programmers and advertisers, the transition from Salem to Walnut/Hickory will be somewhat imperceptible. Both radio stations will remain in their present formats and retain their current program line-ups. Salem is licensing the use of the brand names ?The Word? and ?The Answer? in Omaha, Nebraska to Hickory/Walnut so that the stations will maintain their program integrity and brand equity.
