The hemorrhaging of affiliates continues for Bubba The Love Sponge as Community Broadcasters Alternative “103.1 The Blaze” WZLB Fort Walton Beach FL has dropped the show. While hosts have not yet been named, WZLB will debut “The Morning Alternative” on Tuesday, September 4.
One of Bubba’s former co-hosts, Lori Lewis is exiting her position as VP/Social Media at Cumulus Media after three years. Lewis previously worked for Jacobs Media as a social media consultant and programmed Smooth Jazz 104.3 WSMJ Baltimore.
Brian Taylor departs as APD/MD/night host at iHeartMedia Country “Y96.9” KCCY Pueblo/Colorado Springs CO to focus on HillbillyLive.com. Afternoon host Shawn Patrick will add the APD duties, while SVP/Programming and KCCY Program Director Jason McCollim will absorb the Music Director duties.
Gunner Jackson has departed Entercom Country “93.1 The Wolf” WPAW Greensboro NC after twelve years to focus on his voiceover business. Jackson served as Music Director and afternoon host at WPAW.
The Watertown Daily Times reports that Stephens Media Group let go of Classic Hits “Z93” 93.3 WCIZ-FM midday host Dianne D. Chase, Country “Froggy 97.5” WTNY host Michael ‘Webb Foote’ Stoffel, WCIZ-FM weekend host Joe Munroe, and a few part-time hosts. Chase, President of the Local 51024 chapter of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians-Communications Workers of America, says the union intends to sue Stephens Media for terminating the employees while in the midst of labor negotiations with the union. Ashlee ‘Annie Croakley’ Tracey, who hosted afternoons at WTNY separately gave her notice and left the group as well.
Beasley Media has promoted Eric Cammile to Assistant Program Director at Sports “97.5 The Fanatic” WPEN-FM Burlington NJ/Philadelphia. Cammile has worked at WPEN-FM since 2009 and most recently held the position of Executive Producer at the station.
Beasley Media Group LLC., a subsidiary of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBGI) announces Eric Camille has been promoted to the position of Assistant Program Director of 97.5 The Fanatic (WPEN-FM) in Philadelphia. He began his new position on Friday, August 24th.
Camille, who joined the station in 2009, most recently served as an Executive Producer.
