On the heels of Powell Broadcasting pulling out of the Panama City FL market in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, another operator has reduced staffing in the market.
Magic Broadcasting has cut ties with General Manager Misty Sims and CHR “Island 106” 105.9 WILN morning hosts David Dean and Ceej Dwyer. The trio mark the latest cuts from a cluster that has seen Operations Manager Marc Summers, Rock “97X” 97.7 WYYX Program Director John ‘Fister’ Wilson, WYYX morning hosts Jordan Zeh and Melissa Miller, and WILN afternoon host David ‘No Sleep’ Sebastian exit over the past few months. Additionally WILN MD/midday host ‘Midday Meghan’ has relocated out of the market and departed on her own volition following the hurricane.
Dave and Ceej joined WILN last October. Dean previously served as MD/afternoon host at Country 94.1 KMPS Seattle and has worked in the Orlando and Phoenix markets. Ceej, his childhood friend, had not worked in radio previously.
In addition to WYYX and WILN, Magic Broadcasting owns Classic Country “Wild Willie 100.1” WWLY and Conservative Talk “Talk Radio 101” 101.1 WYOO in the Panama City market.
