Kristina Hammerschmidt Rises To KYW News Director
Entercom News 1060 KYW Philadelphia has promoted Kristina Hammerschmidt to News Director.
The Philadelphia native has served as an editor and writer at KYW since 2017. She previously worked in television as a producer and writer for KYW-TV Philadelphia, WFMZ-TV Allentown PA, and WBOC-TV Salisbury MD.
Entercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content in the United States, today announced that Kristina Hammerschmidt has been appointed News Director of KYW Newsradio (KYW-AM) in Philadelphia, effective November 19. In this new role, Hammerschmidt will oversee the 24-hour multiplatform newsroom at Philadelphia’s iconic all-news station.

A Philadelphia native, Hammerschmidt joined Entercom in 2017 as an editor and writer for KYW Newsradio. She previously served as a producer and writer for KYW-TV in Philadelphia, WFMZ-TV in Allentown, PA and WBOC-TV in Salisbury, MD. Hammerschmidt holds a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University.
