Following cuts in Chicago and St. Louis, Hubbard Radio has now made cuts at Country “97.3 The Wolf” WYGY Fort Thomas KY/Cincinnati OH.
WVXU’s John Kiesewetter reports that morning host Ernie ‘Fat Man’ Brown, midday host Jimmy ‘The Weasel’ Salzurulo and afternoon host ‘Pistol Pete’ Miller were all let go on Tuesday. Evening host Bud Stross, who doubles as Promotions Coordinator for WYGY and sister Country “B105.1” WUBE remains with the station.
The Class A WYGY serves as a flanker to WUBE in a broad Country battle that also includes Cumulus Media’s “Nash-FM 94.1” WNNF and Grant County Broadcasters Classic Country pair of rimshots 105.9 WNKN Middletown OH and 106.7 WNKR Williamstown KY. WUBE ranks third in the Cincinnati market with an 8.9 share, while WYGY holds a 1.0 share. WNNF is at a 1.9, whie WNKN and WNKR registered a 2.0 and 1.0 share respectively.
Why is this crappy little station with almost zero listeners still around?!?!
Gnash FM is no threat to the mighty B105!
