Is another Rock station on its way to Boston? Domains registered on Monday point in that direction. It's 3.3 share and 12th place rank in the just released February 2019 Nielsen Audio ratings is one of its better performance in recent years. However, a number of domains registered anonymously by Beasley's registrar of choice seem to indicate a shift to a more Rock based presentation for the station. The domains registered are:

AlternativeRockBoston929.com

AltRock929boston.com

BostonAltRock929.com

BostonRock929.com

BostonsRock929.com

Rock929Boston.com

RockAlternativeBoston929.com

The domains seem to indicate something between the station's current Alternative format and something harder. That would lead to a better fit for the station's Dave & Chuck The Freak morning show that airs on Beasley Rock and Classic Rock stations in Detroit, Fort Myers, and Tampa in addition to WBOS. The move would also come a few months after Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR moved from a Rock leaning playlist to a more 1980s pop-oriented one giving WBOS some flexibility should it stretch back into the 80s Rock library. Such a move would position WBOS between Entercom Active Rock 107.3 WAAF and iHeartMedia Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX. It is also worth noting that Beasley has the heritage WBCN call letters parked on an AM Sports station in Charlotte NC. [/membership]
