FCC Report 4/28: Lack Of Permission Leads To Translator Move Demise
Rahul Walia’s application to move 100.7 W264BT Edison NJ to 104.7 Franklin Township from the 2016 window was dismissed after a letter from EBC Music’s South Asian 1170 WWTR Bridgewater states that Walia no longer has permission to rebroadcast WWTR on the translator or any property owned by Walia. WWTR has its own pending application for a translator on 104.7 in Somerset NJ. W264BT currently rebroadcasts a competing South Asian brand “8K Radio” fed via 103.3 WPRB-HD2 Princeton.
Northland Community Broadcasters application to increase Christian AC “Smile-FM” 88.1 WSMF Monroe MI from 1.2kW to 5.1kW was dismissed due to interference it would create to Bloomfield Hills School District’s 88.1 WBFH Bloomfield Hills.
Tyler Media’s application to increase 96.9 K245BZ Tulsa OK to 25w was dismissed following a petition to deny from 97.1 KYAL-FM Muskogee over predicted interference.
Andala Enterprises’ application to relocate 106.9 W295CY Evergreen AL to Brewton was dismissed as it shares no overlap with its current contour.
Applications for translators by Cortaro Broadcasting on 105.1 Coolidge AZ, KASA Radio Hogar on 106.9 Marana AZ, and Tri-City Radio for 96.9 Pascagoula MS were all dismissed as the licensees are delinquent on payments to the FCC.
