After just five months, Lis Wiehl has exited as co-host of “WOR Tonight” on iHeartMedia Conservative Talk 710 WOR New York. Wiehl and Joe Concha joined the station in January to host the 6-9pm show with she being the liberal voice against Concha’s conservative viewpoint. Before joining WOR, the former federal prosecutor served as a host for Law & Crime Network and a legal analyst for NPR, NBC News, and Fox News.
WVXU reports that iHeartMedia Cincinnati Regional News Director Jeff Henderson is retiring after 36 years at the cluster. Henderson joined 700 WLW in 1983 and has served as morning newscaster. He was promoted to Regional News Director in April giving him oversight of news departments at iHeartMedia clusters in Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Dayton, Louisville, Indianapolis and Wheeling.
Matt Derrick is exiting the Program Director slot at Townsquare Media CHR “103.5 Kiss-FM” KSAS-FM Caldwell and “Wow Country 104.3” KAWO Boise ID after just eight months to return to Omaha as Operations Manager for SummitMedia’s cluster and Program Director of CHR “Channel 94.1” KQCH. Derrick previously spent two years as FM Operations Manager for NRG Media in Omaha and has also served as Regional Programming Manager for iHeartMedia’s clusters in Norfolk, Salisbury/Ocean City, and Wilmington DE.
Westwood One has promoted John Stolnis from Executive Editor to the newly created role of News Manager for Westwood One News.
Stolnis will be responsible for day-to-day assignments, coverage, and newsroom operations. Stolnis has been with Westwood One since 2004 serving as a producer for the NBC News Radio umbrella and multiple shows prior to taking the Executive Editor role when WWO News launched in 2015.
Westwood One News has promoted Executive Editor John Stolnis to News Manager. In this newly-created role, Stolnis will be responsible for day-to-day assignments, coverage, and newsroom operations. He reports to Kevin DeLany, Vice President, Westwood One News.
Stolnis is a 20-year veteran of radio news and talk programming, with the last 15 years at Westwood One. He has served as Executive Editor and reporter for Westwood One News since its debut in 2015. Prior to that he produced for NBC News Radio as well as multiple national talk radio programs under the Westwood One umbrella, including The Jim Bohannon Show, The Fred Thompson Show, and The Douglas Urbanski Show. Stolnis is originally from Philadelphia, PA and in his spare time hosts podcasts about his beloved Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
