Don Parker Rises To General Manager Of iHeart’s PRIDE Radio

Pride Radio iHeartRadioiHeartMedia has announced that Don Parker will serve as General Manager of its LGBTQ+ “PRIDE Radio” brand.

Parker will continue as Regional Senior Vice President of Programming for the company’s Northern California Region where he oversees the company’s programming in the San Francisco and Sacramento markets and is PD of Urban 106.1 KMEL San Francisco. Parker previously has programmed “Energy 92.7” KNGY San Francisco, “Mega 100” KCMG Los Angeles, “Power 92” KKFR Phoenix and has served as Vice President of Programming for NextMedia.

Parker will search for someone to take over his role as Program Director for the PRIDE Radio brand. In the new role he “will oversee the day-to-day programming, marketing, sales and operations of PRIDE Radio and help further expand the brand’s reach and business development to the LGBTQ+ community on the iHeartRadio app and HD2 stations across the country.”

iHeartMedia announced today that Don Parker has been named General Manager for iHeartRadio’s PRIDE Radio, The Pulse of LGBTQ America, effective immediately. In addition, Parker will continue his role as Regional Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Northern California Region.

iHeartRadio’s PRIDE Radio brings the best of music and programming to the LGBTQ+ community and its allies around the nation and is featured on the iHeartRadio app and 18 HD2 stations, reaching 9 out of 10 LBGTQ+ consumers every month. PRIDE Radio is also hosted by seven leading LGBTQ+ personalities and features a dynamic blend of music alongside its signature LGBTQ+ Audio Vignette series with top music artists such as the Chainsmokers, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, Lizzo and the Backstreet Boys and influencers.

As General Manager for PRIDE Radio, Parker will oversee the day-to-day programming, marketing, sales and operations of PRIDE Radio and help further expand the brand’s reach and business development to the LGBTQ+ community on the iHeartRadio app and HD2 stations across the country. Additionally, iHeartMedia will soon conduct a national search for a program director for PRIDE Radio, reporting into Parker.

Parker is a media veteran and has held several positions while at iHeartMedia. Prior to his current role as regional Senior Vice president of Programming and General Manager for PRIDE Radio, Parker has served as Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia San Francisco, Vice President of Programming for NextMedia Group, Program Director for KCMG in Los Angeles and Program Director for KTBZ in Houston. He began his career at KBOS in Fresno, California.

iiHeartMedia proudly supports the LGBTQ+ community and actively participates in LGBTQ+ events and initiatives across the country including its partnership with WorldPride NYC, the largest Pride celebration in the world spanning the entire month of June, as well as being an official sponsor of the 2019 Capital Pride Concert, which showcased some of today’s biggest stars including Marshmello and more who performed on the PRIDE Radio stage last weekend in Washington D.C.
