Numbers of note for this month:
- Its not often that you can chart the growth of a Hot AC thanks to hockey, but that is the case at Entercom’s “Y98” KYKY St. Louis. With most of the Blues’ run to tomorrow’s Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals being bumped from 1120 KMOX to KYKY due to contractual obligations to carry the St. Louis Cardinals, KYKY has trended up 4.7 – 5.1 – 5.6 over the past three months. The station has also had two 24 hour marathon’s of Laura Branigan’s “Gloria” as the Blues advanced through each playoff round.
- Just like sister 95.5 WPLJ New York, Cumulus’ “Mix 107.3” WRQX Washington DC gained in its final full monthly as it rose from a 3.5 to 4.1 share.
- Bloomberg’s Business/News 99.1 WDCH Bowie MD has quietly begun to generate ratings as the station trends 0.9 – 1.6 – 1.9 in the Baltimore market. In its primary focus of Washington, it holds at a 0.4.
- iHeartMedia Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT nosedives from a 6.6 to 5.4 to lose its lead in Phoenix. Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX moves up to the top spot despite dropping 6.5 – 6/1. Both stations losses were at the expense of Entercom Classic Hits 94.5 KOOL-FM rising from a 4.1 to 5.0.
- Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM Minneapolis falls from first to third with a 7.5 to 6.7 drop. iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL rises from fifth to a first place tie with Cumulus Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS as KQQL jumps 5.8 to 6.8.
- The demise of Broadcast Company of Americas Sports “Mighty 1090” XEPRS San Diego pays off for Entercom’s “97.3 The Fan” KWFN as it trends 0.9 – 1.7 – 2.1. Entercom Alternative “Alt 94.9” KBZT also with a notable jump from 3.1 to 3.7 as Local Media San Diego’s “91X” XETRA-FM drops 2.6 to 2.1.
- The addition of Fitz for mornings at Hubbard Country “98.9 The Bull” KNUC Seattle sees the station crack a 4 share as it rises from a 3.5. However Entercom Country “100.7 The Wolf” KKWF rebounds from a 4.1 to a 5.0.
- iHeartMedia Country “106.7 The Bull” KWBL Denver surges from a 2.0 to 3.1 share as Bonneville’s 98.5 KYGO drops 5.7 to 5.0. It’s been a poor couple of months for KSE Media Classic Hits “Kool 105” KXKL as it has a three month trend of 6.3 – 5.4 – 4.6.
