Beyond the two cuts this week at Entercom San Diego, word trickles of further cuts in the company.
Robert Feder reports that eight people were let go from Entercom Chicago yesterday including five in traffic and continuity and three in sales. Four positions in the finance department will be eliminated in August according to Feder.
Michael Castner is out as morning host at News/Talk 840 KXNT Las Vegas. Castner joined KXNT in 2017 after previous runs in mornings at KEX Portland and WRNO-FM New Orleans. He also hosted the syndicated The Daily Wrap for Wall Street Journal Radio Network, The Nightside Project for multiple Bonneville stations, and was an anchor for E! Entertainment Television for 15 years.
Radio One has promoted Paris Nicole from Program Director of Urban “Boom 103.9” WPHI Jenkintown/Philadelphia.
Nicole joined WPHI in May 2017 as APD/midday host after spending seven years at sister “iPower 92.1” Richmond where she moved up from weekend host to middayer to APD. She started her career in her teens at Clear Channel Richmond.
Adams Radio Group Classic Rock “X-Rock 103.9” WXRD Crown Point/Valparaiso IN is dropping the syndicated Bob & Tom Show after 18 years at the end of this week.
Cluster OM Scott Rosenberg will move from 9am-12pm to mornings with a music intensive morning show. The Chicago Tribune reports the move was made due to declining ratings.
Community Broadcasters has named John Crenshaw as its new Operations Manager in Fort Walton Beach FL. Crenshaw previously held that role at Cumulus Media in Grand Rapids MI and then Youngstown OH until his exit in February.
Country Aircheck reports that Saga Communications has shuffled some Country programming assignments.
JR Ruppel moves from Operations Manager in Harrisonburg VA and Program Director of Classic Country 96.9 WSIG to Portland ME as Brand Manager of Country 101.9 WPOR to fill the opening created by Crash Poteet’s exit last month.
The Harrisonburg opening will be filled by Paul ‘Uncle Pauly’ McDaniel. McDaniel previously programmed Monticello Media Country 99.7 WCYK Charlottesville until his exit earlier this year.
Entercom has announced that Robby Bowen will move from General Sales Manager at its Dallas cluster to VP/Director of Sales in New Orleans. Bowen has previously served as General Sales Manager for 105.3 KRLD-FM Dallas under CBS ownership and Market President of Townsquare Media Buffalo.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., announced Robby Bowen as Vice President and Director of Sales for Entercom New Orleans, effective June 19. In this role, Bowen will oversee sales efforts for B97 (WEZB-FM), Bayou 95.7 (WKBU-FM), Magic 101.9 (WLMG-FM), The New Hot 92.9 FM (WWWL-AM) and WWL 870 AM – 105.3 FM (WWL-AM/FM).
