WCTK Promotes Madelyn Grimaldi & Courtney Kelley

Cat Country 98.1 WCTK ProvidenceHall Communications Country “Cat Country 98.1” WCTK New Bedford MA/Providence RI has announced a pair of on-air promotions as Madelyn ‘Maddie’ Grimaldi moves from middays to morning co-host alongside Brian Mulhern while Courtney Kelley rises from weekends/fill-in to midday host.

Maddie joined WCTK in 2015 as a promotions assistant and later served as social media director and evening host before moving to middays last November. Kelley has been with the station since 2013 and has worked at multiple stations in Providence and nearby New London CT during her career.

The moves follow former morning co-host Amanda Lombardo deciding to exit last month rather than return from maternity leave.

Hall Communications announces that Madelyn Grimaldi will join Brian Mulhern for Cat Country mornings effective immediately on WCTK-FM (Cat Country 98.1). Grimaldi has been with WCTK since 2015 working in promotions, social media and on the air both at night and during the midday.

“I’m excited to join Brian and have some fun in the morning,” said Grimaldi. “I’m grateful for the opportunity that Hall Communications has given me to grow in the business and as an on-air personality.”

In this 10th year with WCTK, Mulhern said, “Maddie gets it. She has been connecting with our fans since she first came to Cat Country both on the air and through social media. Looks like she’s ready to babysit me in the morning!”

Taking over Grimaldi’s vacated spot during the midday is veteran Providence personality Courtney Kelley. Kelley has been with WCTK since 2013 hosting weekends and fill-in. Courtney had previously worked on the air at other Providence and New London Connecticut radio stations.

“I’ve got my Cat Country on six years ago,” said Kelley. “I look forward to being on the air each day building camaraderie with our fans while they are at work.”

In making the announcement, Hall Communications VP/Programming and WCTK PD Bob Walker added, “Our philosophy is to hire great people and allow them to grow in our company and the industry. Being able to see these two talented personalities take on new challenges is what it’s all about.”

WCTK is celebrating 30 years as a country music radio station this year.
