With the company exiting Detroit, Radio One has transferred Operations Manager Yonni ‘Rude’ O’Donoghue to Cleveland.
Rude, who transferred from Richmond VA to Detroit in February, will oversee the company’s four stations in the market and fills the opening created by Bill Black’s move to iHeartMedia Detroit.
Radio One owns Adult R&B AC 93.1 WZAK, Hip-Hop “Z107.9” WENZ, Gospel “Praise 94.5” 1300 WJMO/94.5 W233CG and Black Talk 1490 WERE in the Clevleand market.
O’Donoghue joined Radio One in 2016 as Operations Manager of its Richmond cluster. Prior to that he spent sixteen years in Charleston at multiple stations in the Cumulus cluster including time as PD of CHR “95SX” WSSX and has also served as MD/afternoon host at Urban “Foxy 99” WZFX Fayetteville NC.
Radio One Regional Vice President, Eddie Harrell, Jr. announced Tuesday afternoon that Yonni Rude will be Radio One Cleveland’s new Operations Manager. Yonni Rude will oversee all of the brands in the stations’ cluster which includes (WENZ-FM Z107.9, WZAK-FM 93.1, WJMO-FM Praise 94.5 and WERE-AM Newstalk 1490).
Yonni comes to Cleveland from Radio One Detroit, where he served as Operations Manager of Urban WGPR (Hot 107.5), Urban AC WDMK (105.9 Kiss FM) and the Detroit Praise Network WDMK-HD2 (Praise 93.5/98.3/99.9). Prior to landing in Detroit, Yonne spent almost 3 years as Operations Manager of Radio One in Richmond, VA. Before his tenure at Radio One, Yonni held significant programming/on-air responsibilities with Cumulus/Citadel in Charleston, SC and Fayetteville, NC.
