Entercom Partners With Penn State In Philadelphia
Penn State University has gained a new affiliate in Philadelphia as the school’s football and men’s basketball will move to Entercom Conservative Talk 1210 WPHT starting this fall season.
WPHT supplants Salem Media’s “News Talk 990” WNTP as Penn State’s Philadelphia radio home. The deal will involve a streaming component as Radio.com will beomce the on-demand home of the weekly Penn State coaches shows and the daily Inside Penn State Athletics.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and the unrivaled leader in sports radio, today announced a new multiyear, multiplatform agreement with Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics and its exclusive multimedia rights holder, Learfield IMG College’s Penn State Sports Properties. As part of the agreement, Talk Radio 1210 WPHT (WPHT-AM) in Philadelphia will be the new radio home for Penn State football and men’s basketball games and RADIO.COM will feature ancillary on-demand programming.
Beginning with the 2019-20 athletic season, Talk Radio 1210 WPHT will air live all Penn State football and men’s basketball games. Additionally, RADIO.COM will feature on demand the weekly Penn State football and men’s basketball coaches shows and the daily show “Inside Penn State Athletics.” Sister stations KYW Newsradio (KYW-AM), B101.1 (WBEB-FM), SportsRadio 94WIP (WIP-FM), 98.1 WOGL (WOGL-FM) and 96.5 TDY (WTDY-FM) will provide promotional support for Penn State Athletics. A 50,000-watt station based in Philadelphia, Talk Radio 1210 WPHT can be heard from New York City to Washington D.C.
