July 2019 (6/20 – 7/17) Nielsen Audio PPM Ratings Day 4: Hip-Hop Gains In Jacksonville

93.3 The Beat WJBT JacksonvilleThe fourth and final day of Nielsen Audio’s PPM releases for June 2019 bring Austin, Raleigh/Durham, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Nashville, Providence, Norfolk, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Greensboro, Memphis, and Hartford.

Numbers of note include:

  • Three of the biggest gainers from last month continued to rise this month. iHeartMedia Hip-Hop “93.3 The Beat” WJBT Jacksonville went 4.6 to 6.0 last month and continues up to a 6.6 share with a fourth place ranking in the market. Meanwhile sister R&B “V101.5” WSOL has trended in the opposite direction 5.7 – 5.0 – 4.6.
  • iHeart’s Spanish CHR “Mia 92.1” WRLX West Palm Beach’s trendline continues up with a 2.0 – 3.2 – 3.7.
  • The addition of Rock “93.9X” WNDX Indianapolis brings a continued rise from 2.8 to 3.6. As Cumulus sister Classic Hits 104.5 WJJK rose from 9.7 to 11.1 to expand its market lead as both of iHeartMedia’s Rock stations fell. Classic Rock “Q95” 94.7 WFBQ has trended 7.2 – 6.7 – 5.9 since the launch of WNDX, while Alternative “Alt 103.3” WOLT slides 3.6 to 2.9 this month.
  • The June morning show change at Max Media AC “92.9 The Wave” WVBW Norfolk brings a 4.5 to 3.4 share drop at the station. Crosstown Entercom Hot AC “94.9 The Point” WPTE rises 3.2 to 4.0 in the same period.
  • A pair of Cox Media Group stations swap spots at the top of the Jacksonville market as News/Talk 104.5 WOKV-FM rises 7.5 to 8.0 and Classic Hits “96.9 The Eagle” WJGL drops 8.1 to 7.3.
  • iHeartMedia Classic Rock “105.9 The Rock” WNRQ Nashville has a three month growth of 6.3 – 7.2 – 7.8
  • The top of the Milwaukee market sees some upheaval. iHeartMedia Classic Hits 95.7 WRIT remains on top with a 9.4 to 9.7 rise. Saga Classic Rock “Hometown Rock 96.5” WKLH surges to second with a 7.0 – 8.4 gain. Good Karma News/Talk 620 WTMJ falls to third with a 8.7 to 7.6 tumble. iHeartMedia Country 106.1 WMIL rises to fourth with a 5.9 to 7.1 jump. Falling from fourth to eighth is Entercom Hot AC “99.1 The Mix” WMYX as it stumbles 6.7 to 5.1.
