FCC Decisions
After Bustos Media applied to relocate 107.5 KZSZ Colusa CA to 107.9 in Robbins CA as a Class A with 4kW/44.7m last month, the FCC quickly shot down the proposal finding it unacceptable to replace the existing allocation for a Class B on 107.9 Sacramento “before it can be offered for competitive bidding under section 309(j) of the Communications Act and to downgrade the allotment”.
The FCC concurrently issued an amendment to the table of allotments to restore 107.9 Sacramento and seven previously deleted allocations back. The other additions were 92.1 Hamilton AL (class A), 107.3 Aguila AZ (C2), 107.7 Bagdad AZ (C3 replacing 101.7), 97.3 Orange MA (A), 103.1 Marathon TX (C1 replacing 103.5 C), 95.7 Mason TX (C2), 105.9 Roby TX (A replacing 97.7).
La Favorita Radio Network was issued a Notice of Violation for Regional Mexican “La Mexicana 1390” KLOC Turlock/San Jose CA over multiple violations including tower painting and lighting and failure to properly run legal IDs.
The FCC has issued Orders To Pay or Show Cause to initiate potential license cancellation hearings against three stations over unpaid regulatory fees and associated interest, administrative costs, and penalties owed to the FCC. Heidelberg Broadcasting’s R&B Oldies 1470 WVOL Berry Hill/Nashville TN owes $10,902.35 from between 2007 and 2009. Christian Broadcasting of De Ridder’s 1010 KDLA De Ridder LA owes $7,815.05 for 2010 and 2012-2016. The Sportzmax, Inc’s 1280 WDSP De Funiak Springs FL owes $2521.56 for between 2010-2012.
