Entercom Classic Hits “94.7 The Drive” WIAD Bethesda MD/Washington DC has appointed Chris Roth as Program Director.
The Washington area native has worked at many stations within the market on the programming, on-air and technical ends. He most recently served as VP/Business Development for Bohn Broadcasting Services and was hosting weekends at Entercom AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF Baltimore.
Roth previously was Director of Programming for Salem Media’s 105.1 WAVA-FM, Director of Programming & Operations for Centennial Broadcasting Winchester VA, Director of Programming for Curtis Music Classic Hits “Y102.9” WWMY Raleigh, and Senior Director of Programming for Cumulus Media’s Fayetteville cluster. Roth also served as Director of Technical Operations for Red Zebra Broadcasting and has worked on-air at News 103.5 WTOP and Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX Washington.
Roth succeeds the retiring Steve Davis overseeing WIAD.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., announced the appointment of Chris Roth as Program Director for classic hits station 94.7 The Drive (WIAD-FM) in Washington D.C., effective immediately.

In this role, Roth will work closely with Entercom classic hits Format Captain and sister station K-EARTH 101 (KRTH-FM) Program Director Chris Ebbott to accelerate 94.7 The Drive’s ratings growth.
Roth is a radio veteran who has spent the majority of his 20-year career in the D.C. metro area. Prior to joining Entercom, Roth held multiple programming and on-air roles for iHeartMedia, Hubbard Broadcasting, Salem Media and Red Zebra Broadcasting in Washington D.C., Curtis Media Group in Raleigh, NC and Centennial Broadcasting in Winchester, VA.
