Alpha Media has appointed David Drutz as VP/Market Manager for its two stations in San Jose CA.
Drutz spent the past nine years at Cumulus Media’s Sports 680 KNBR/1050 KTCT San Francisco as General Sales Manager and then VP/Sales. He previously spent much of his career in television holding management positions at Fox Sports Net and Comcast SportsNet.
Drutz fills the position that had been held by Lori Heeren. Heeren departed last month to become Executive Director of the Nevada SPCA. Alpha owns Classic Hits “94.5 Bay-FM” KBAY and Hot AC “Mix 106.5” KEZR in San Jose.
Alpha Media, San Jose is proud to welcome David Drutz, who has taken over the reins as vice president/market manager at Alpha Media’s San Jose cluster. Drutz comes to Alpha from San Francisco powerhouse, KNBR, where he served as VP of sales for nine years.
“Just ‘the announcement’ of David’s transition to Alpha’s San Jose operation brought excitement and interest from advertisers and members of the media across the Bay Area,” said Larry Bastida, Alpha’s chief operating officer. “And, as anticipated, David has quickly moved to enhance the culture and our productivity.”
David stated, “I’m incredibly excited to be part of a company as visionary as Alpha Media and lead KBAY and KEZR. Both brands not only dominate Silicon Valley but also have tremendous reach throughout the Bay Area. It’s going to be great fun in managing these stations to even more success!”
