Bonneville Classic Rock “98.5 KFOX” KUFX San Jose has promoted Karina Farias to Program Director.
Farias has served as Music Director of KUFX and sister AC 96.5 KOIT San Francisco since June 2018. She has previously served as APD/MD of Bryan Broadcasting’s Country “Maverick 100.9” Wheelock/College Station TX and Classic Country “Willy 97.7” K249ET College Station and worked on-air at “100.3 The Bull” KILT-FM Houston.
Farias becomes one of a handful of female Program Directors at a Rock station in a PPM market.
Karina Farias has been named Program Director for 98.5 KFOX (KUFX-FM/San Jose, CA), effective immediately. As Program Director, Farias will support ratings, revenue, and digital growth of KFOX and the online/social assets. She will report to Bonneville’s Bay Area Director of Programming Operations, Brian Figula.
“Karina has quickly elevated our music and programming initiatives for both KUFX and KOIT,” said Figula. “Her passion, commitment and digital talents, will reinforce the market-leading classic rock position we have on 98.5 KFOX. Nobody deserves this opportunity more than Karina”.

98.5 KFOX is approaching its 30th anniversary and is the flagship of the San Jose Sharks.
