This will mark her third tenure with the company after serving as Director of Audience Development & Digital Lead for WTNH-TV New Haven since May 2015. From April 2008 through January 2015, she served as Director of Social Marketing and Engagement for iHeartRadio. In her first tenure from 2001-2007, Wojtusiak was a Promotions Assistant for WXKS-FM Boston, Marketing Assistant in Hartford, and Online Marketing Coordinator for WHTZ New York. She also worked in promotions at WBCN Boston.
iHeartMedia announced today that Vanessa Wojtusiak has been named Vice President of Marketing for Hartford and New Haven, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Connecticut has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than ten stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Vice President of Marketing, Wojtusiak will be responsible for overseeing the marketing and promotions for all of iHeartMedia Connecticut brands. She will report to Steve Honeycomb, Region President for iHeartMedia Hartford.
“Vanessa started her love for media right here at iHeartMedia Connecticut and we are so pleased that her career has brought her full circle and back home,” said Honeycomb. “Her experience and continued spiritedness for our products will be a tremendous asset as she leads our marketing efforts here in Hartford and New Haven.”
Wojtusiak joins iHeartMedia Connecticut from Nexstar-owned ABC television affiliate, WTNH-TV, where she most recently served as the director of audience development and executive digital producer. She also served as the national director of social marketing for iHeartRadio, an online marketing manager for Z100 in New York and the marketing assistant for KISS 108 in Boston. Wojtusiak also held marketing positions throughout her career for various companies, including Boston’s WBCN-FM as well as Capitol Music Group and Virgin Records. She began her career at iHeartMedia Connecticut and is a graduate of Lasell College.
“I am thrilled to be back home where I started my entire media career 18-years ago,” said Wojtusiak. “Radio has been my longstanding passion and a medium that still has a meaningful and powerful presence in local communities – holding a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to keep elevating the iconic local brands alongside a very talented team.”
