iHeartMedia Country 101.1 WNOE New Orleans has announced the appointment of Casey Carter as Program Director and afternoon host.
The move marks a return of Carter to the station as she previously served as APD/MD in the early 2000s. She has served as PD of iHeartMedia Country “Q104.1” WTQR Winston-Salem/Greensboro NC since April 2017 and has also programmed WROO Jacksonville, WSTH Columbus GA and WOBB Albany GA and on-air at stations including WKKT Charlotte, WZZK Birmingham, WCOL/WHOK Columbus and WQIK Jacksonville during her career.
Carter fills the position held by Ashley Wilson until her promotion to Director of Country Programming for iHeartMedia’s Kentucky/Indiana Region in June.
iHeartMedia announced today that Casey Carter has been named Program Director/On-Air Host for 101.1 WNOE, New Orleans Country Station, effective immediately. iHeartMedia New Orleans has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than eight stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Program Director/On-Air Host, Carter will be responsible for overseeing the programming content and station branding for 101.1 WNOE and will host weekday afternoons from 3 – 7 p.m. She will report to Angela Watson Charles, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia New Orleans.
Carter joins iHeartMedia New Orleans from WTQR-FM in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she served as the program director and on-air host. Throughout her career, she also served as the assistant program director for 101.1 WNOE, where she is making her return, as well as the on-air host for 96.9 The Kat in Charlotte, North Carolina. Carter began her career at 1490 WMRN in Marion, Ohio and is a graduate of The American School of Broadcasting in Columbus, Ohio.
