After cuts at their Madison WI cluster last month, Mid-West Family Broadcasting has made some roster trimming in Rockford IL.
Mark Zander departs as Operations Manager of the cluster and Program Director of Rock “104.9 The X” WXRX and Sports “SportsFan 1330” WNTA. Zander joined Mid-West Family in August 2016 after spending much of his career in Chicago and its suburbs including on-air stints at 94.7 WZZN, 97.1 WDRV, 97.9 WLUP, and 105.9 WCKG and programming “87.7 MeTV-FM” WRME-LP Chicago, 95.9 WERV Aurora and 100.7 WRXQ Coal City IL.
WXRX morning host Lori Williams is out after three years with the station. Williams originally joined WXRX as midday host in January 2017 before quickly moving to mornings and was also Digital Production Manager for the cluster. She previously spent five years in middays at Townsquare Media Classic Rock “96.7 The Eagle” WKGL-FM. Co-host Kevin Wood remains in the morning slot.
Curtis Media’s Raleigh market CHR “96.9/102.5 Pulse-FM” WWPL Goldsboro/WPLW Hillsborough NC has announced the addition of Jax as morning host. Jax joins WWPL/WPLW from nights at SummitMedia CHR “Star 102.1” WWST Knoxville and succeeds JT who departs for a non-radio job.
Former “104.3 Wow Country” KAWO Boise morning host Rick Dunn has joined Midwest Communications as Program Director of Country “Froggy 99.9” KVOX-FM and Classic Country “104.7 Duke-FM” KMJO Fargo. Dunn exited KAWO in August after four years in mornings alongside Carly Cash. The duo previously hosted mornings at “K-Bull 93” KUBL Salt Lake City where Dunn used the on-air name ‘Shotgun Jackson’. Dunn fills the position most recently held by Chris Daniels until his exit in July.
The addition of Dunn follows KVOX-FM bringing in Kendra Rohr and Johnny Taco as morning hosts last month. Rohr and Taco (then known as Ross) joined KVOX-FM from Amaturo Sonoma Media CHR “Hot 101.7” KHTH Santa Rosa CA, where Rohr doubled as Program Director.
