Nielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

Among the highlights for the monthly:
- Rock dominates in Philadelphia as Beasley’s combo of Rock 93.3 WMMR and Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK take the top two spots in the market as WMMR rises 6.4 to 6.9 to place first and WMGK follows with a 6.2 to 6.4 gain. Ratings expert Chris Huff notes this is the first time WMMR leads Philadelphia since 1990.
- Beasley’s Variety Hits “95.7 Ben-FM” WBEN-FM Philadelphia trends 2.0 – 3.1 – 4.3 to move up to tenth in the market.
- Also in Philadelphia, Public News/Talk 90.9 WHYY-FM trends 3.3 – 4.5 – 4.9 to set a station record high.
- Cox Media Group News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB-FM Atlanta continues its 2020 surge following its FM signal upgrade as it rises 10.0 to 11.4.
- KSBJ Educational Foundation’s 89.3 KSBJ Houston jumps 4.1 to 5.4 to place sixth in the market.
- Entercom News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC San Francisco grows its market lead to over to shares with a 8.4 – 8.7 gain. Public News/Talk 89.3 KQED-FM falls 7.5 to 6.6, while Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT rises to third with a 4.1 to 4.8 gain.
- Entercom News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS Chicago moves from third to first with a 5.4 to 5.8 gain. Hubbard Hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX surges back to second with a 3.3 – 4.9 – 5.4 post-Holiday trend.
