Rich Lauber has departed as SVP/Programmming for iHeartMedia Syracuse and afternoon host at Country “B104.7” WBBS.
The Syracuse Post-Standard notes that Lauber has worked in the Syracuse market since 1985 with stints as Music Director at AC “Y94” 94.5 WYYY and APD of 570 WSYR before being the first voice heard on WBBS following its flip to Country in 1993.
Lauber’s afternoon slot on WBBS is currently being held by 106.1 WMIL Milwaukee afternoon host Quinn, using the on-air name ‘Shanna’ that she previously used in mornings at Hot AC “99.5 The River” WRVE Albany NY prior to moving to Milwaukee in February 2018.
With Lauber’s exit, the five station iHeartMedia Syracuse cluster is currently down to one local on-air voice in News/Talk 570 WSYR/106.9 WSYR-FM morning host Dave Allen. The market was one of the hardest hit between the retirements of WBBS morning hosts Tom Owens & Becky Palmer and Market Manager Rick Yacobush at the end of 2019 and iHeart’s January cuts.
